For some time now, I have been devoting myself to the art of making this traditional delicacy from the Sarntal Valley. Even when I was a child my grandmother, who was from the valley, would spoil me with “Sarner striezl.”
I rediscovered, and learned the art of making these delicacies, from a kind, warm-hearted farming lady from the Sarntal. Alongside my work on the mountain farm, working with raw materials, cherishing the joy of home baking, and adding speck as the perfect finishing touch, fills me with the greatest of pleasure and satisfaction. If you can bring a smile to the faces of your guests and customers when they savour their first bite of striezl, then all the work has been worth it.
